Why Mini
Distractions?
Our Farm name came about the week after our son Andrew was
diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
He was diagnosed in the emergency room late Friday night and we
had a crazy stressful weekend! On Monday we were able to
get into to see the Endocrinologist and started to understand
what Type 1 Diabetes meant to us. After a grueling day in Doctors
offices, training, and a LONG pharmacy visit we finally got to go home.
We got the kids to bed, and shortly after one of our Miniature Horse
Mares gave birth to a filly.
You can't imagine how welcome that Joy was in our life just
then. We promptly named the filly "Joyful Distraction"
Joy for short and our Farm became Mini Distractions.
