Our Farm name came about the week after our son Andrew was
diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, in 2005.
He was diagnosed in the emergency room late Friday night and we
had a crazy stressful weekend! On Monday we were able to
get into to see the Endocrinologist and started to understand
what Type 1 Diabetes meant to us. After a grueling day in Doctors
offices, and a LONG pharmacy visit we finally got to go home.
We got the kids to bed, and shortly after, one of our Miniature Horse
Mares gave birth to the sweetest little filly.
You can't imagine how welcome that Joy was in our life just
then. We promptly named the filly ;Joyful Distraction Joy for short and our Farm became Mini Distractions!
